From November to March the Balaton shore is quieter, and many beach buffets and terraces close. This selection brings together 24 places from the guide that, according to their own information, welcome guests all year round or through autumn and winter: restaurants from Siófok to Hévíz, wine terraces in Badacsony, patisseries and cafés.
The order is not a ranking but geographical: we go from the south shore through the western basin to the north shore. For each place we give the opening hours, the source and the date we checked. Holidays, festive closures and shorter days are more common in winter, so call ahead, especially between 24 December and 1 January.
