Rozmaring Kiskert is at the quieter end of Siófok, in Balatonszéplak, on Akácfa utca among holiday homes and under big trees. It is barely visible from the street, so few people end up here by chance. Since 2011 it has served Italian food built on a few good ingredients and hand-made pizza dough.
Pizza, pasta, burrata
The pizzas use the house’s own flour blend, and the toppings are not piled high: tomato, rocket, pesto, parmesan. Among the pasta dishes, rigatoni with burrata and truffle is one of the strongest, alongside seafood pasta. To start there is Parma ham with melon or burrata with anchovy on rocket. Earlier guest reviews often mention the porchetta and the parmesan beef tenderloin.
The wine shelf holds Balaton and upland bottles, such as Béla és Bandi, Légli and Káli Kövek Riesling, next to Italian wines.
The garden
A small, green garden restaurant with tables under the trees. Good for an evening with friends or a quiet summer night; it can feel tight for a large group.
Good to know
At the time of research it was open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 21:00 and closed on Monday and Tuesday. This may change out of season, so call before you go. At busy times service can be slow; guest reviews suggest this is not the place for a rushed lunch. It used to accept cash only, so ask about card payment in advance. Delivery was being discontinued at the time of research.
Who it is for
For anyone in Siófok who would rather eat Italian in a quiet garden than on the promenade, and has time: a pizza, a glass of wine, no hurry.
Worth a taste
Rigatoni with burrata and truffle
Creamy pasta, fresh burrata and thinly shaved truffle on top. The best summary of the house’s Italian style.
Local tip
Be ready for the pace
The kitchen is slower at busy times. Bring some cash and check the opening hours by phone before you go.
