Tiki Beach Bisztró

Tiki Beach is in Zamárdi, on Margó Ede sétány at the end of Rákóczi utca. A couple started it, and in 2018 We Love Balaton named it Discovery of the Year. It is in the POP category of the 2025 Gault&Millau Balaton selection. A beach bistro, but not a lángos stand: a short, seasonal menu and carefully built plates.

What to eat

Sour cucumber soup with smoked salmon and mustard seeds is a recurring favourite, and it works after a long night too. The tarhonya pudding was beach dish of the year in 2019. Alongside: burgers, white pizza with burrata, pickles and dill, grilled fish with quinoa and fennel, and a beef salad with roasted apricot. There is usually a vegan dish too.

Drinks and atmosphere

Cocktails served in tiki mugs, Zamárdi pálinka, Balaton wines, craft beers. The terrace has mismatched, brightly painted chairs and lamplight in the evening. The cycle path is close, and many arrive by bike.

Good to know

It is a seasonal place, so check current opening on their Facebook page. In summer it opens at noon, at weekends from 10:00, until 22:00. The menu is short and a dish can sell out. Some guests find it pricey, and for a beach bistro it is indeed not cheap. Cards are accepted.

Who it is for

For anyone who wants a proper meal after the beach or a bike ride, not just fried fish, and will stay for a cocktail until sunset.
