Szomszéd Kertje began in Csopak, moved to Balatonfüred in 2024 and has welcomed guests at Figula Pincészet, at the top of Csárda utca, since spring 2025. Chef Tóth Attila’s spirited, fire-led gastropub gained a wider panorama at its new location but kept the friendly, neighbourly atmosphere that persuaded regulars to follow it from one garden to the next.
The short, frequently changing menu brings together Hungarian comfort food and ideas from around the world. An oven, grill and slow cooking work behind the scenes; schnitzel, duck leg, pike-perch and substantial vegetable dishes are sometimes joined by Asian crispness or Portuguese seasoning. The Sunday trio of meat broth, schnitzel and custard slice has become a ritual of its own, while the glasses naturally hold Figula wines.
Here the view is an extra, not a substitute: Lake Balaton, Füred’s rooftops and the red church form the backdrop to a leisurely lunch or sunset drinks. Portions are generous and service is personal, but weekend tables fill quickly. Check the weekly menu and seasonally changing opening hours before setting out.

The BalatonEats meal plan
How to put your meal together
- 01Sunday meat broth
Liver dumplings, snail-shaped pasta and vegetables begin the restaurant's classic weekend menu.
- 02Crispy pike-perch
Lakeside cooking at its best: crispy fish with seasonal accompaniments and a distinctive sauce.
- 03A ‘square metre’ of custard slice
The extravagant name is no accident: a generous, crisp and creamy finish to Sunday lunch.
